Photo Story 4

In the Fall of 2014 Jan and I took advantage of the Fall Break, at the college where we taught, to visit New Hampshire and see the Autumn colors. This is Lake Winnipesaukee in late afternoon. Here was another scene that Jan saw and urged me to photograph. The photo is also special for the mirror-like stillness of the lake, reflecting the trees along the shore, but also the sky above, giving a beautiful coloring to the lake. Also of note is the two leaves in the near right of the lake shore. Looking at it, the leaves give the appearance of floating in midair rather than on the water. It was important to have deep depth of field so that everything in the frame is in sharp focus. The camera is a “trip camera:” a Fujifilm X100s. Great compact fixed lens (35mm) mirrorless camera that takes beautiful photos.
