Not what it seems. This was taken in the middle of the parking lot at Logan Pass in Glacier National Park, Montana. This mound is in the middle of the lot at the Visitor Center the Going to the Sun road through the park. The appearance of the mountain goat almost seems as though it is staged for the visitors at this time every day. The trick to making this photo appear as though you have hiked deep into the park is to compose it with the mountain in the background and edit out the cups and other trash that is scattered on the mound. In retrospect I wish I had taken another photo where I zoomed out to show all the people in the parking lot taking photos while the goat poses for the audience!
