Sunset over Mobile Bay, Alabama from eastern shore town of Fairhope. This is another one of being at the “right place/right time” photos. Jan and I had traveled back to the county where I was born in Alabama, visiting friends and enjoying staying at the Grand Hotel on the eastern shore of Mobile bay. One evening we had dinner at a restaurant on the bay, and upon coming out I saw this scene. Fortunately, I had my camera in the car and was able to get this shot as the sun was setting. You don’t have a lot of time to compose and take photos of sunsets, so sometimes you are scrambling to get the right position and hope something or someone will either move into or out of the scene while the sun is in the perfect position to the horizon. This was one of those fortuitus times when the photo was enhanced by a boat moving into the frame. Also, the reflection of the sky in calm water was another fortuitus addition to the photo.
