We had traveled from Michigan to the Blue Ridge Parkway and I had planned to take photos in places I had not yet photographed. On a morning with hopes high for a good shooting day I looked out the window and stared into thick fog. Instead of being disappointed and put out by the weather, I said to Jan “This is great! I will get some good atmospheric shots in this weather.” This was one of those photos—the Spring House at Brinegar Cabin at mile marker 239 on the BRP in North Carolina. I am known for my moto “I don’t believe in bad news. Bad news is just good news before its conversion experience.” This is a great example of this moto becoming true. I know some people would be discouraged when they saw fog when they looked out the window, but it is possible in some situations to prosper under difficult situations if you find ways to turn a negative into a positive.
