This is one of those “was it really worth the trouble?” photos. To get this photo of a Blue Heron I had to sit at the edge of this pond, only 5 feet from the edge of a busy road. I had conceived a photo exactly like the one I got: the bird in stride, head up, with full profile, no other birds in frame, and with a good background. After 90 minutes of waiting I finally got the shot. If I had gotten frustrated and left after 85 minutes I would have never taken the photo and probably would have lost any opportunity to have any photo of a Blue Heron. Patience made all the difference. Patience is also a key attribute in our faith journey as well. Here are a few Bible Verses that speak to the need for patience in our spiritual life:
I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. Psalm 40:1
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Romans 8:25
